Description:

This training offers techniques and processes for the non-art therapist to utilize in clinical practices.  Art Therapy is a graduate level entry field, requiring board certification from a national accrediting body, however, many other clinicians utilize art media and processes in their clinical work.  This training offers participants an overview of theories and techniques of art IN therapy, as well as clinical and non-clinical populations served by this profession.  Normal child development, as evidenced in artwork, will serve as a foundation for understanding key concepts. Brief artmaking experientials using household materials will help participants understand the importance of content, process, and maintenance of scope of practice towards positive client outcomes.
