A live, interactive, online training using the Zoom Pro platform
Human trafficking happens at the house next door, the salon down the road, the school parking lot, and in many environments all around us. Through this training the participants will learn about the three most common types of human trafficking and hear details of experiences within each type. They will learn how to recognize the risk factors of human trafficking in both children and adults. Participants will watch a short video on grooming and recruitment to gain a better understanding of how victims are selected. They will explore current trafficking trends and be provided with the most current statistics regarding human trafficking.
Participants will learn about the effects of human trafficking on immigrants and the challenges that arise with reporting trafficking within the immigrant populations. Participants will learn how to recognize the unique medical and mental health needs of victims of trafficking as well as best practices. In a group setting, participants will practice how to approach and assess potential victims of human trafficking as well as culturally appropriate questions to ask. Finally, participants will learn what steps to take in reporting trafficking.

10:00 am to 10:30 am: Recruitment and grooming video and group discussion
10:30 am to 11:15 am: Pennsylvania news articles with break-out room discussion on
recognizing and preventing trafficking.
11:15 am to 11:45 pm: Video and discussion on trafficking of immigrants
11:45 pm to 12:30 pm: Discussing medical and mental health needs of trafficking survivors
including practicing how to interview and assess in various settings.

Rita Camarillo, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Training & Consultation Specialist with Rutgers Behavioral Research & Training Institute for the Children’s System of Care Training Program in New Jersey. She graduated from the College of St. Elizabeth in 2004 with a Masters in Counseling Psychology degree. She completed her undergraduate degree at Rutgers University. Rita has over 21 years of experience working in behavioral health beginning her career as a youth and family counselor at a domestic violence center. Since 2004 Rita has worked in different capacities within the Children’s System of Care including Children’s Mobile Response Crisis Intervention Specialist, Mobile
Response Program Coordinator, Behavioral Assistant, and Intensive In- Community Clinician. Rita has been utilizing the Crisis Assessment Tool (CAT) and Strength and Needs Assessment (SNA) since 2004 and recently became a certified trainer. Rita provides individual and family therapy services to many immigrant communities and currently trains on immigrant trauma and best practices working with immigrants. She speaks several languages including Spanish and Arabic and is proud to be a certified Nurtured Heart Approach Trainer.
Procedure: After registration, you will be sent a confirmation, and a receipt of payment. A few days before the training you will receive a email containing instructions for logging on to the Zoom session, handouts, and the requirements for your certificate and CEU’s (if applicable)
Cancellations and Refunds: Canceling your registration must be done by email (training6000@gmail.com) prior to five business days from the training date. If you have paid the fee, you will receive a refund or credit (your choice). If you fail to cancel prior to five business days and have paid, you or your agency will forfeit the fee. If you fail to cancel prior to five business days from the training date and have not paid, you or your agency will be billed for the full fee. Thank you.
