A live interactive training using the Zoom Pro platform
The country has experienced an increase in violence during the pandemic, including intimate partner violence, child abuse and gun violence. Gun violence alone increased by more than 30% in the United States according to a new study by the Penn State College of Medicine. Stress, domestic violence, lack of social interactions and greater access to firearms have likely contributed to the increase.
This training will provide participants with trauma-informed strategies to work with individuals impacted by violence. The training will cover topics including (but not limited to) the cycle of violence, the impact of trauma and social location, protective factors, trauma exposure response, social determinants of health, complex PTSD, and collaborative community responses to violence. There will also be themes around cultural sensitivity and humility and power and privilege discussed throughout the training.
