A live interactive training using the Zoom Pro platform
This training guides clinicians through the process of helping trauma survivors create, voice, and honor their narratives. It begins with an introduction to trauma (defining trauma, exploring trauma exposure and urban youth, and considering the consequences of trauma exposure). It explores trauma treatment for youth (best practices, treatment modalities, common factors, and trauma narratives). Finally, the Storiez intervention is presented using didactic material, video content, and participatory activities. Storiez is a 9-step framework to assist urban youth as they create, voice, and honor their life narratives using a variety of artistic formats and mediums.

Meagan Corrado is a Doctor of Social Work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her interest in helping others began at an early age began when she helped family members and friends. Storiez arose from her own personal experiences with trauma and her clinical work with youth. Meagan has worked with children and teenagers who have experienced trauma for more than fifteen years. She takes a highly creative approach to her work with youth, using narratives, art, music, poetry, and play. Art and storytelling have also been important outlets for her as she worked through her own trauma.
As the owner and founder of Storiez, Meagan authored 10 books and trained over 8,000 clinicians, community leaders, and trauma survivors across 22 training programs. She earned a Doctorate of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and a Masters of Social Services from Bryn Mawr College in 2009. She is currently an Assistant Professor at West Chester University in their Masters of Social Work program.
For several years, Meagan has provided support to systems working to make their organizations more trauma-informed. These systems have included The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Homeless Services, The Philadelphia Police Department, Philadelphia’s Department of Human Services, Philadelphia School District’s Office of School Safety, The American Institutes for Research, and many others.
Meagan looks forward to possibly partnering with your agency or school to support youth in building a more hopeful future.
